Care Tips

Sterling Silver, Rose Gold, Pearls and Leather

• Always protect your jewellery from scratches, sharp blows, chemicals, extreme temperatures and sunlight

• Remember to remove your jewellery when exercising, cleaning, swimming, in the spa, gardening and especially renovating!...  ask Nette…

• Clean your silver and rose gold pieces with gentle hand soap and warm water…  use a soft towel to buff dry

• If for some reason, you need to clean your pearls, use a damp cloth or send to a professional jeweller – pearls are soft and porous

• Don’t spray your jewellery with perfume, fake tan or hairspray as the chemicals could cause damage

• Store your jewellery in your jewellery box, away from sunlight and in a dry spot – you can pop a moisture drawing block somewhere out of contact with your jewellery to ensure the environment remains dry.  Moisture may cause tarnish to silver and gold – it can be cleaned due to the high level of precious metal in Gate Uniques jewellery, but best you don’t need to do this

• Don’t use toothpaste to clean your rose gold – Gate Uniques uses a 1 micron thick plate of Rose Gold, but it would be a shame to damage your jewellery from too much scrubbing

• Best of all, throw away your chemical cleaning products and remember, warm water and hand soap are far safer and effective. If you desperately want to polish your silver jewellery, we recommend a Goddard’s Polishing Cloth, found at most supermarkets

PS  - sorry, leather can’t be cleaned – just enjoy the aging process
